What a year it's been: Arts and Letters Magazine has resumed publishing. 2005 will go down in our history as probably one of our most difficult. We were forced to suspend publication for the Fall and part of the Winter because of financial and personal problems among our group. Publishing a small magazine has never been easy and for us here at Arts and Letters it has been an especially hard road to hoe. We all have day jobs and personal responsibilities and the Magazine, unfortunately, has on a few occasions taken second seat to issues that have arisen.
We are glad to say, however, that 2006 looks bright. We expect a profitable year for the magazine with our coffers full of cash, gold, precious gems, and securities. No, seriously, we'll be getting our money mostly from kick-backs, bribes, and offshore accounting practices that make Enron look like a non-profit daycare center. This business model should ensure that Arts and Letters retains financial security for some time to come.
So in sum, 2005 was a grand year and 2006 looks to be even better. We intend to keep fighting the good fight and we really do want to hear from our readers, so please drop us a note and let us know what you like, what you don't like, what/who you want to see more of, etc. etc. Merry Christmas, Eid Mubarak, Happy Kwanza, Super Solstice, and an internationall new year from all your friends at Arts and Letters Magazine. Keep those submissions coming!
Kind Regards,
